The company design and manufacture bespoke advanced test machinery for various industry sectors including automotive and defence. Due to increased sales and growth they are seeking to strengthen their team by the recruitment of an Application Software Engineer.
Reporting to the Company Director - the main purpose of the Application Software Engineer role is;
Key responsibilities and duties would be;
- To determine the best methods to implement automation and control process for applications from customer specification
- Develop C# control software
- Interfacing 3rd party equipment for integration using software and C#
- Developing automation sequences
- Creating test and acceptance procedures
- Creating custom system functionality on customer requirements
- Visit client sites for installation, testing and documenting the solution - within the UK and overseas
- Providing information to the to sales department for quotation purposes
I would be keen to receive your application if you are an Applications Software Engineer who holds the following experience and skills;
- Must have strong experience in a hardware based automation role
- Experience of PC & PLC control systems
- Understanding and ability to modify electrical systems
- Knowledge of C# software and knowledge of VB6/VBA
- Knowledge of source code management via SourceTree, BitBucket & Jira
- Preferably hold a degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Control engineering
- Project management tools and source code version control systems
- Experience in database interfaces would be advantageous
- Prepared to work nationally and overseas at times
The role is a day shift Monday to Friday with some flexibility in working hours
The company are based in the Malvern area so are easily commutable from Worcester, Hereford, Cheltenham, Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Redditch, Birmingham
Salary - up to £45,000 per annum
