Our client, a premier global automotive supplier are currently seeking to recruit an experienced Customer / Supplier Quality Engineer. As Customer / Supplier Quality Engineer you will report directly to the Quality Manager and be responsible for all activities from quoting new business to successfully sustained full volume production.
This position will be working on a day shift and commands a competitive salary and benefits package for the right candidate.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Work collaboratively to support the customer/s, suppliers and plant team through innovation, lessons learned and best practices
- To administer Goods Inward Quality Function and maintain Goods Inward Quality database
- To administer Supplier Concern reporting system including raising, issuing, progressing and reviewing Supplier 8D reports
- Manage Goods Inward Performance monitors, reporting effectiveness of system to Quality Manager
- Regularly review customer/s performance data and work pro-actively with the customer and plant to maintain a world class score
- Conduct Supplier, and internal, Product and Process Audits as defined in schedules, or as required following non-conformity incident
- Check delivered, or other, parts against defined specifications
- Responsible for coordinating Supplier PPAP reviews and sign off
- Develop working relationships with our Customer/s, offering support and problem solving where required
- Support process improvement and problem solving meetings as and where required
- Support to ensure the phased/gated deliverables in the APQP process (and customer websites) are met on time
- Analyse Supplier data, produce reports and tracking databases, and make appropriate recommendations and guide to Continuously Improve and develop our suppliers
- Consistently identify opportunities for improvement within the department
To be successful in the role of Customer / Supplier Quality Engineer, you may have previously worked as a Quality Engineer, Metrology Engineer, SQE or Quality Lead and you will possess the following qualities:
- Experience in an automotive / high volume manufacturing environment in a Quality / Supplier role
- Strong Analytical skills
- Understanding of Manufacturing Engineering
- Strong understanding of core quality tools
- Problem Solving Skills – PPS / 8D / Six Sigma
- IATF / TS16949 Internal Auditor
- To be computer literate and able to use MS Office package (MiniTab would be an asset)
This position is based in Telford and is easily commutable from Birmingham, Shrewsbury, Cannock, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Wrexham, Bridgnorth, Stafford, Rugeley and Stoke on Trent.
