The company design and manufacture bespoke engineering systems and machinery for various industry sectors including automotive and defence. Due to increased sales and growth they are seeking to strengthen their team by the recruitment of an Engineering Buyer.
Reporting to the Engineering Director - the main purpose of the role is the purchase of parts and services for company projects.
Key responsibilities and duties would be;
- Responsible for the purchase of parts and services for company projects
- Agree specification of parts with the Engineering team
- Point of contact for engineering procurement
- Ensure ordered parts arrive within agreed deadlines with suppliers
- Develop and maintain a good relationship with the companies suppliers
- Monitor and review supplier performance
- Ensure the best possible pricing for the business on procured parts
I would be keen to receive your application if you hold the following experience and skills;
- Procurement/buying experience within an engineering environment
- Purchase experience of mechanical and electrical items parts
- Knowledge of ERP / MRP systems
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
- Detailed approach to work with a good eye for detail
- Able to work effectively as a team player and to work to deadlines
The role is a day shift Monday to Friday with some flexibility in working hours
The company are based in the Malvern area so are easily commutable from Worcester, Hereford, Cheltenham, Bromsgrove, Droitwich, Redditch, Birmingham
Salary - up to £32,000 per annum
