Our client are world renowned market leaders in the design, manufacture, procurement and distribution of precision measurement products and they are currently recruiting for a highly experienced Field Service Engineer (Home based) to join their team. As Field Service Engineer you will play a key role in supporting the businesses customers and worldwide distributors through service, calibration and technical assistance. 

Reporting directly to the Field Service Manager, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Carry out visits to customer sites for scheduled service, calibration and training of optical products
  • Attend to breakdown calls, when required, on optical products
  • Complete site visit reports, to allow correct processing of customer orders, via service administration
  • Create calibration certificates from recorded data
  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001 procedures
  • Maintain up to date, detailed knowledge and understanding of product portfolio
  • Attend product specific training in Group offices and with worldwide suppliers
  • Ensure continuous awareness of product changes / improvements and developments
  • Give expertise, advice, guidance and assistance to customers when requested
  • Receive, answer and resolve service questions when required
  • Foster client relationships on an ongoing basis
  • Attend Exhibitions / Trade Shows for build and breakdown

To be successful in the role of Field Service Engineer, you may have previously worked as a Maintenance Engineer, Field Technician, Repair Engineer or Service Technician and you will possess the following qualities:

  • Experience in Mechanical and / or Electronic Engineering
  • Good working knowledge of calibration processes, including UKAS is desirable
  • Experience in a field or office based service role
  • Wide knowledge of mechanical, electrical and software based products
  • Ability to impart training to a varied audience
  • Able to work proactively, independently and flexibly
  • Proficient in the use of Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Able to undertake daily UK wide visits, including overnight stays, with some foreign travel
  • Full valid UK driving licence

This position will be home based however, the ideal candidate will be located in or around the Derby, Leicester or Nottingham area with responsibility for those locations.
