Our client design and manufacture precision forged and machined components and are currently recruiting for an experienced Materials Manager to join their team. As Materials Manager you will be focused on meeting the raw materials requirements inclusive of all management of the material planning team and enables suppliers for all the business areas. Key deliverables and measures of performance include Launch performance, on time delivery, stock / inventory, arrears, unacknowledged orders and work to lists.
Salary up to £55,000 per annum, depending upon experience plus car allowance.
Reporting directly to the VP Purchasing, your key responsibilities will include:
- Material Requirement Plan exception reports
- Update from suppliers with certs delivered
- Management of material launch charts daily
- Management of stock list / stock reporting
- Management of material in review in conjunction with Contract review
- Management of Material Requirement Plan with purchase orders vs Sales orders
- Management of order amendments
- Amendments check with Material Requirement Plan with purchase orders place orders or amend orders work with Customer Order Administrator
- Check and sign purchase orders
- Work with operational planning team to ensure a material launch performance of 95%
- New Product Introduction work with engineers for samples and bulk material to meet time scales
- Monitor delivery dates on purchase orders and supplier performance
- Lead material supplier performance reviews internally and externally with Material-Class suppliers along with key internal stakeholders
- Management of C-Class bought out finished products
- Lead and manage goods inwards department to issue material to the forging areas with a launch performance of a minimum of 95%
- Management of the material supply chain to ensure delivery on time to Purchase Orders
- Work with accounts and suppliers to resolve invoice queries
- Work with sales on price and delivery for quotations in a timely and effective manner
- Management of unacknowledged orders

This position is based near Redditch and is easily commutable from Droitwich, Bromsgrove, Alcester, Studley, South Birmingham, Solihull, Worcester, Kidderminster, and Stourbridge.
