Our client are a major supplier of chilled food products and they are seeking to appoint an experienced Process Technologist. As Process Technologist you will be responsible for acting as a link between product development and production ensuring that new products are effectively delivered following a critical path, from trial and testing stages to full production.

Salary up to £35,000 per annum dependent upon experience.    

Reporting directly to the Head of NPD, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Translation and delivery of new or changed products from concept to launch within the agreed critical path and with the right quality and safety standards
  • Effectively plan, prepare and execute product process development and all line trials to deliver product and customer requirements
  • Ensure all trials are fully documented and adhere to food safety and quality standards
  • Consider the opportunity to deliver improvement opportunities within the trial stages
  • Liaise with procurement and technical to ensure all new raw materials are procured and are fit for purpose
  • Ensure all trial information is documented to enable accurate specs, BOM’s & factory documents may be completed
  • Submitting products for micro analysis and determining shelf   
  • Completion of organoleptic data for every product trial
  • Completion of Quality Standards for all new products or processes
  • Working on continuous improvement opportunities for all manufactured products
  • Troubleshooting and resolving product related issues within the manufacturing environment

To be successful in the role of Process Technologist, you will possess the following qualities:

  • Previous relevant experience within a high care chilled food environment
  • Degree (or equivalent) in Food Science or a related subject
  • Strong organisation skills and the ability to multi task, and deliver against tight critical paths
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced environment
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with people on all levels
  • Sound knowledge of functional ingredients and any related process constraints
  • An understanding of processing equipment and best use
  • Ability and aptitude to resolve food processing issues
  • Passionate about process, process improvement and functionality of ingredients   

This position is based in Redditch and is easily accessible from Studley, Alcester, Bromsgrove, Kidderminster, Droitwich, Worcester, Birmingham and Warwick.
