Our client are world renowned market leaders in the design, manufacture, procurement and distribution of precision measurement products and they are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Design Engineer to join their team. As Project Design Engineer you will originate and develop ideas to design new products or a range of products.   

Reporting directly to the Design & Development Director, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Provide engineering support through all phases of product development and manufacture
  • Design and improve the current product range
  • Creating concepts and prototypes
  • Completion of performance evaluation
  • Making corrections and requested changes
  • Producing support information such as specifications, costings and instruction manuals

 

To be successful in the role of Project Design Engineer, you will possess the following qualities:

 

  • Good level of academic achievement, ideally to degree level or equivalent within a Mechanical Engineering related discipline
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, CAD and SolidWorks
  • Previous experience within a similar role / environment
  • Experienced in working with metals and / or plastics
  • Substantial experience of designing components manufactured using conventional machining tools i.e. Milling, turning, grinding
  • Knowledge / understanding of designing small mechanical assemblies, metal components, moulds to house electronic components and products with IP ratings

 

This position is based in Bradford and is easily accessible from Thornton, Keighley, Leeds, Dewsbury, Halifax and Headingley. You must be committed to undertaking occasional UK and international travel and comfortable with overnight stays away from home.
