An award winning manufacturer has an opportunity for an experienced Quality Technician to join their team. As Quality Technician you will be responsible for ensuring that components are manufactured in accordance with Automotive requirements ISO 9001:2015 and IATF 16949:2016.   

Hours of work will involve mornings, afternoons and night shifts rotating on a weekly basis. Salary £13.33 per hour + shift allowance rising to £14.03 per hour + shift allowance, after completion of probation period plus excellent benefits package.  

As Quality Technician you will report directly to the Quality Manager and your main responsibilities will include:

  • Ensure components meet customer requirements/specifications by conducting first off analysis, testing the product in line with PQR requirements ensuring the process controls detailed in the control plan are being adhere to.
  • Ensure quality systems / department goals are achieved to meet the business requirements and take appropriate action to improve where necessary.
  • Ensure all product documentation is available for manufacturing.
  • Undertake investigation of quality problems (product, system, process) utilising appropriate problem-solving techniques, ensuring robust preventative actions are executed and verified as being effective.
  • Conduct capability studies and analysis data using Minitab software and review data in conjunction with relevant quality / production engineers.
  • Where required liaise with customers at their premises and internally to discuss quality problems and/or assist with quality audits also contributing to ongoing enhancement of relations.
  • Supporting the rework requirements of components, such as rubbing down, gloss level rework, trimming and segregation of components.
  • Measure /Test components as required to achieve customer satisfaction in times of aggressive project leads times.

To be successful in the role of Quality Technician you will possess the following skills and experience:

  • Previous experience working to high quality standards.
  • Significant experience working in a fast-paced Tier 1 Manufacturing environment
  • High level of Literacy & Numeracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel & Office packages

This position is based in Brierley Hill and is easily commutable from Birmingham, Stourbridge, Dudley, Wolverhampton, Walsall, Bromsgrove, Redditch and Kidderminster.
