The company are a precision engineering company who design and manufacture components for a number of sectors. Due to the companies fantastic sales and growth in turnover they are now seeking to recruit a Quality Technician for their operations.
Reporting to the Engineering Director the main purpose of the role is to carry out quality functions for the business ensuring customer satisfaction to a high level.
Key responsibilities and duties would be;
- To respond to quality issues and complaints from the client promptly and effectively
- Carry a responsibility to resolve any production or engineering issues
- Carry out 8D process management
- Ensure measuring/metrology equipment is maintained and working accurately
- Process non conforming parts/components
- Analysis and reporting of supplier and subcontractor performance and assistance on supplier improvement activities
- Documentation of inspection results, completing reports and logs
- Manage and drive the culture of 5S improvements
Are you a quality professional with the following skills and expertise?
- Worked in a quality control capacity within a manufacturing / production environment
- Working knowledge of 8D and 5 why processes
- Familiar with auditing (internal and external) to ISO9001
- Previously used quality measuring equipment such as micrometres, shadowgraphs, verniers etc
- Able to read and interpret technical engineering drawings
- Good computer literacy (Word, Outlook, Excel)
- Have a positive "can-do attitude" and a methodical, attention to detail
The role is Days - 5 days a week (Monday to Thursday7.30am to 4.15pm & 7.30am to 12.30pm Friday)
The company are based in Birmingham so are easily commutable from Redditch, Solihull, Worcester, Droitwich, Dudley, Bromsgrove, Alcester, West Bromwich, Walsall, Wolverhampton.
