An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Injection Mould Tool Designer to join a successful automotive manufacturer who have become one of the country’s leading tool makers and injection moulders. As Tool Designer you will be a key player in the development of new and existing mould tool design and the review of outsourced tooling. Previous experience of injection mould or die cast tooling is essential.
Salary £40,000 to £45,000 per annum dependent upon experience plus competitive benefits package
This is a rare opportunity to join part of an established design team, where your tool design experience will be utilised from day one. This is a varied position which involves development of new and existing mould tool design using 3D surface modelling, 2D generation, and the review of outsourced tooling designs. Due to the nature of the business, and the high demand for the tools, the role will additionally involve extensive customer liaison, therefore the ability to communicate clearly is essential.
To be successful in the role of Tool Designer the following skills and experience are essential:
- Proven experience as a Tool Designer, within Injection Mould or have proven design knowledge of High Pressure Die Cast design.
- Ability to work from feasibility studies, and be comfortable with documenting findings and providing alternative solutions
- Knowledge of both 2D & 3D CAD packages – Experience of Delcam Powershape would be advantageous however, this is not essential
- Able to manage multiple designs, and organise daily work load against deadlines
